Pahari Chhatra Parisad (PCP), an organisation of indigenous students from the hilly districts, yesterday staged demonstration on Dhaka University (DU) campus protesting the attack on four hilly villages at Baghaichhori in Rangamati on April 20.

PCP leaders and activists took out a procession that paraded different campus streets and held a rally in front of the central library that condemned the incident and demanded punishment to the people responsible for rampaging houses at the village.

Leaders of several left-leaning student organisations joined the rally and expressed deep concern over the incident and demanded proper investigation into the incident.

PCP central unit President Rimo Chakma presided over the rally.

Meanwhile, leaders of the seven left-leaning student organisations in a joint statement urged the government to form a judicial probe committee to investigate the incident.
