No further details are available. Baghaihat is a remote area which lies in the north eastern corner of Chittagong Hill Tracts bordering Mizoram state of India.

Human rights violations are on the rise in the CHT since state of emergency was clamped down in the country on 11 January this year. Scores of Jumma activists have been arrested and some of them have been given jail terms after trial in speedy trial courts. There is widespread allegation that military officers in civvies and intelligence agency personnel had been present during the trial to influence the witnesses and pervert the course of justice.
