Jumma woman raped in Ghilachari

A Jumma woman has been raped in Ghilachari under Rangamati district, sources say.
Mrs Juboni Chakma (22) was raped by an army soldier at around 3pm today when she was babysitting at her home in the village of Jurachari. His husband Shyamol Chakma was not at home at the time.
The unnamed soldier is from Ghilachari camp under Naniachar zone and was on duty at a sentry post near their house.
The village and the army post sit on Rangamati – Khagrachari road and are situated 2 miles from Ghilachari camp.
Hill Women’s Federation General Secretary Konika Dewan has condemned the incident and demanded an exemplary punishment of the culprit.
