Jumma villagers opposed to construct house in Jurachari by the army

In July 2005 the following land owners were opposed to construct house on their land by the army of Banjogichara zone at Maischari area under Jurachari upazila in Rangamati district. Some army personnel asked the land owners whether they were constructing house by the instigation of any vested group. The army personnel informed them that the government might settle down Bengali families there. On 7 July 2005 a group of four civil dress army personnel went there and took video record of the whole area of Maischar. Again on 28 July 2005 a group of army led by one Captain and one Lieutenant went there and took video record of whole areas of Pibirachari, Kudurkhiya, Betchari and Maischari under Jurachari upazila. It is also learnt that 200 families of Rohingya Muslims would be settled down at the areas from Shimultali to Maischari and Bijakizing army camp to Jurachari sadar. Name of the land owners:

1)      Mr. Bipin Chandra Chakma (62) s/o Madan Mohan Chakma of Hazachara (He has 5.00 acres of land at aforesaid area of Maischari);

2)      Mr. Tarun Jyoti Chakma (42) s/o Nila Kamal Chakma kf Hazachara (He has 5.00 acres of land at same area)

3)      Sons of late Biraj Chandra Chakma (They have 4.00 acres of land at same area).
