The army personnel in Khagrachari conducted an overnight raid on 28 September 2007 on an office-cum-residence at East Naranghia used by members of the United People’s Democratic Front.

The brick-walled office building was under lock and key and no one was there during the raid, as the office was deserted due to ban on political activities.

The army personnel asked for the keys from Mr. Itu Chakma, younger brother of UPDF president Prasit Bikash Khisha, who lives near the office.

When he told that he did not keep the keys, the soldiers broke into the office and extensively searched the interior.

They also detained briefly two male domestic help of Mr. Itu Chakma who guard the main gate of their house until they were confirmed about their identity.

Three masked men accompanied the army during the raid and the army personnel did not carry their name badges so as to keep their identity concealed.
